The 2026 Sorrento Bay Swim is an open water swim for swimmers of all abilities offering the following 3 courses: 

● 600m - Sorrento Beach to Sorrento Foreshore for junior and novice swimmers, 

● 2,000m - Sullivans Bay to Sorrento Foreshore for experienced swimmers and 

● 4,000m - Camerons Bight to Sorrento Foreshore for elite swimmers. 

The Sorrento Bay Swim is a major fundraising activity for the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club, allowing the club to continue delivering volunteer patrols on the Sorrento Back Beach and a nipper program that teaches water safety and first aid to the youth of the area. The Club has a proud history and tradition of surf lifesaving education, competition and patrolling achieved through the community spirit of its volunteer members. 

Entry Details:

Online entry fees for 2026 are:

● $45.00 for 600m (8+ Junior & Novice), 

● $75.00 for the 2,000m (12+ Open, Seniors, Masters, Grand Master, & Legends) and 

● $95.00 for the 4,000m (18+ Elite) swims. 

 For those swimmers wishing to compete both the 2,000m & 4,000m swims we have a discounted entry fee of $150.00. Please note all entry fees are inclusive of GST and Race Roster fees, so there will be no additional charges during checkout. 

 Note: discounts are available for group (team) bookings of 4-6 swimmers and for early bird registrations, i.e. before the 1st December 2025. Also if you leave it until race day a late fee will be added to the above entry fees. 

All participants receive an event t-shirt and a coloured swim cap to keep. Participants also receive a timing device and a strap. Timing devices are strapped on the ankle and must be returned at the finish line. Non-returned timing devices and straps will cost $115.50. 

Registration check-in will occur on arrival at the Sorrento Foreshore in the Finish Line area (near The Baths Restaurant). Swim briefings will be given in front of the Race Director’s tower in the same area. Courtesy buses will be available to transport entrants to the 2,000m and 4,000m start lines. Please arrive early to make sure you get to the start line on time!
